I couldn’t find any official information on this update (maybe because its a Day 1 update?). Here I’ll just translate the Update Notes on the PS4.

- Added “Sailor’s Bikini” to Shop
- Added “Wide-rim Sunglasses” to Shop
- NPC Friendship Quests have been added in Main Story & Kirito Mode

Is the “NPC Friendship request” similar in function to the system in Hollow Realization where the town NPCs sent you requests and then you could take them to th field?
No I think its more just events in town with the partner characters. Its really hard to say since it was added on day 0.
