List of Gadgets with descriptions and unlock conditions.
**This post may contain spoilers.
Gadgets are special equipment that help you in combat situations and sometimes help progress the story. They are unlocked throughout Story Mode and can be used with R1 or L2+R1. You can also change your equipped Gadget by holding down L2 during gameplay and using the Right/Left Stick to select the gadget you want to equip.
Gadgets have a linear upgrade route. This means you don’t get to pick which upgrades you want and have to purchase each upgrade in the chain to unlock more upgrades for the specific Gadget.
For combat, Gadgets are intended to serve as either a supplementary use for crowd control and immobilizing enemies or for finishing enemies off in specific situations. This guide will cover some practical uses for Gadgets in different situations.

An automated drone that targets nearby enemies and shocks them with a small energy blast. Each energy blast is roughly the strength of half a single basic combo attack. Use this when there are a bunch of annoying enemies on the screen that will mess up your grove such as Brutes, Whip Demons, Katana Demons, Jetpack Sable Soldiers and Armored Sable Soldiers. While the Drone draws attention, mop up enemies using your other gadgets and attacks. But just understand that its duration isn’t very long so be ready to use another one after about 20sec or so.

Electric web is the only answer for Armored Sable soldiers and its effectiveness is extremely high in most situations. But it is limited by a low capacity so use it sparingly and only on large clusters of enemies, or on Armored Sable Soldiers.

The Web Bomb is limited by its capacity so you have to be very careful on how you use it. But anytime you can web or take out upwards of five enemies at once, a Web Bomb will never be a waste.

The Trip Mine can be placed on enemies themselves and when the sensor encounters another surface, they will be pulled to it and taken out. This even works when the other surface is another enemy, meaning that the Trip Mine can be used to take out two thugs that are next to each other at the same time.

The Concussion Blast is a really versatile Gadget as it works on all enemies; Brutes don’t get blown away, but they do get knocked down if they are close enough. It also works extremely well in conjunction with other Gadgets such as a Web Bomb or Suspension Matrix.

A Gadget that produces an anti-gravity field and causes any enemies that are caught in its area to hover above the ground. That makes the Gadget really good at crowd control but also stalling troublesome enemies while you take out their friends.
