Facility & System Explanations for Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet
This post will aim to explain the various shops and points of interest around town as well as provide a slightly more in-depth rundown of the game’s general systems.
Since this post will be covering very fundamental things, its most likely that you already know these things already though the in-game tutorial. If you feel as if you’re confident in your knowledge of the game’s basic systems, you can feel free to skip this post.

SYSTEM DETAILS
This section will cover basic system related topics about the game. The in-game tutorial explains most of these mechanics and its good enough. Read on if you want more detail or a slightly different explanation on things you probably already know. Any information not covered here might be covered in the FAQ so be sure to check that out as well.
ABOUT BASIC GAMEPLAY SYSTEMS
Ultimate Fiber Gun(UFG)
After Clearing the Tutorial, you get access to the UFG (Default is on L1). This is a useful grappling hook which allows you to reach higher platforms and travel across the ground quickly. Smll flying enemies can also be knocked to the ground if you hit them with the UFG.
Bullet Circle
This is the Green Square with acts as your default aim cursor. Its an auto-aim bracket where any enemy that is placed within the rectangle will be automatically targeted. Its good for run and gun and targeting high mobility enemies but its sucks at anything that has to deal with precision. The bullet circle will also refuse to target weakpoints so if you want to hit critical damage on monsters, you shouldn’t rely on this.
ABOUT STATUS PARAMETERS
When you earn experience and level up, you gain “CP”. CP are points used to increase your character’s Status Parameters. Each stat point costs a certain amount of CP and as you increase a certain Stat, it will start costing more and more CP.
There are 6 Status Parameters and each of them having the following effects on your player character:
STR (Strength):
- Increases Max Carrying Capacity
- Increases Melee Attack Strength
- Some Weapons need a minimum STR to be equipped
VIT (Vitality):
- Increases MAX HP
- Reduced damage from incoming attacks
AGI (Agility):
- Movement Speed Increase
- Reduced damage from incoming attacks
- Increases speed of actions such as reloading
INT (Intelligence):
- Decreases Recharge Time (Cooldown time on skills)
- Increases effectiveness of certain Skills & Gadgets
- Increases rate of inflicting abnormal status effects with attacks
DEX (Dexterity):
- Increases effectiveness of Gadgets
- Critical rate & Damage against weakpoints increases
- Bullet Circle’s effectiveness increases
- Some Weapons need a minimum DEX to be equipped
LUK (Luck):
- Increases item drop rate
- Critical Rate increase
Additionally, Skills that you learn for your character require certain minimum stat parameters. So instead of popping stat points onto your character willy-nilly, look at skills or weapons that you want to use and then increase your stats to allow the use of those. The same goes for the STR stat and carrying capacity.
ABOUT SKILL & GADGET SETUP
You can equip a total of 8 Skills and 4 Gadgets. Each of your two weapons can equip 4 Skills in its pallet whereas Gadgets are on a separate pallet. The term “Skills” encompasses Buffs, Debuffs, Healing, Sword/Gun Skills and Auxiliary Skills. Its kind of difficult to pick and choose just 8 so carefully consider which kinds of skills will be most beneficial to you.
Skills have requirements that need you to have minimum Stat Parameters in order to learn them. Aside from this, they also cost SP to learn (SP is earned at the Medal Trading Facility). Most of the time, there are also up to 3 tiers for each skill, with each tier increasing its effectiveness as well as its learning requirements.
Its up to the player to experiment with all of the skills they are interested in and focus on a pallet that compliments their playstyle. But if I were to recommend skills, I would say that Healing Area, Power Form, Armor Break, Blaze Bullet & Stun Bullet should be good enough to start with.
For the full list of the game’s skills along with their learning requirements, check out the Skill & Gadget List page.
ABOUT WEAPON RARITY
All Weapons and Accessories can be found in different tiers of rarity. The rarity affects its base damage, the number of Passive Effect slots and the kinds of passive effects. Since its desirable to always build up the strongest version of a weapon, you should generally hold out for the highest rarity on a weapon and prioritize appraising higher rarity weapons first.
The rarity tiers work as follows:
- Common (Grey) – No Passive Effect Slots
- Uncommon (Red) – ~3 Passive Effect Slots
- Rare (Blue) – ~5 Passive Effect Slots
- Epic (Yellow) – ~7 Passive Effect Slots
- Legendary (Green) – ~8 Passive Effect Slots
Note: More rarity tiers may be added in a version update.
ABOUT THE MEDAL SYSTEM
This game has Medal System sort of like Uncharted where different actions in battle unlock different Medals. There are 3 maedal types: Attack, Support and Weapon Medals. Medals are earned and used as a currency in the Medal Trading facility. You can get some rare items, skill points and memory chips by trading medals. More information on Medal Trading will be divulged later in this post.
Medals are earned as follows:
Attack Medals:
- Killing 5 Enemies with Gadgets
- Inflicting a debuff on an enemy (Blaze, Poison, Suppression, Paralysis)
- Killing an in-game player
Support Medals:
- Healing an ally
- Recovering an Abnormal Status
- Reviving a downed ally
- Buffing attack (Your own or an ally)
- Buffing defense (Your attack or an ally)
Weapon Medals:
- Killing enemies with a weapon
- Getting kills in quick succession
ABOUT NEW GAME PLUS
When you clear the Story Mode, you are faced with an option to start the game over from the beginning. Doing so will allow you to restart the story and keep your weapons, equipment, material, experience and proficiency. But it will also reset your Friendship Affection level and make it so you have to unlock Dual Arms and Gun+Sword again.
If you chose not to restart the story, the game will take you to a few quests before the final fight with everything intact. From here, you can work on affection, see all the side events and reach the true end. You can also reach the Trophies/Achievements for clearing the game on Extreme Mode without having to start a whole new game.
I can’t really think of a reason to play through New Game Plus unless you want to re-watch the story. Its not like there are any unique items that are only obtained once in the story that you could duplicate through a New Game Plus.
It was recently revealed that you need to do a New Game Plus on Extreme Mode to make Liz’ Smithy Lv7. This is a hell of a reason to do a New Game Plus as she can’t work on Rank 4+ weapons otherwise. Kind of a poor way to get you to play through the game again but its worth it.
For more information on the game’s Story Mode and True End, check out the Story Mode Guide.
ABOUT THE TRUE END
In order to reach the true end, you need to max your Affection with all the characters in the game (Rank 4 100%) and then watch all of the Side Events (Green Speech Bubbles on the map) in both Kirito Mode and the Main Story.
Doing so will allow you to be eligible to receive an item that changes the ending. For more information on exactly how the True Ending works, check out the Story Mode Guide.
ABOUT EXTREME MODE DIFFICULTY
When you clear the story mode, you unlock the Extreme Mode difficulty. This is a difficulty where the levels of the monsters have been adjusted to increase the challenge of the overall game. You can change the difficulty of the game from the Options Menu in the title screen.
Note: The difficulty cannot be changed during the game. You need to exit to the title screen to do it.
The following are the benefits of playing the game in Extreme Mode:
- Higher Level Monsters in every field and dungeon
- Liz’ Shop has an increased Enhancement level
- Shops stock more items and equipment
- Weapons of Rank 6-7 can be found as drops
FACILITY & SHOP INFORMATION
~LOBBY AREA FACILITIES~
The Lobby Area is a special room located at the top of the map in SBC Glocken. It serves as the Online Hub and also has a Shop, Quest Terminal, Two Online Reception Desks and a Medal Trading Facility.
ONLINE RECEPTION DESKS

The two Online Reception Desks in the Lobby area allow players to play online. There is one desk to access PvP online play and another to access PvE online play. When you are online, you can start quests/missions from this desk.
**Note: Experience, Weapon/Skill Proficiency and Bounty Ranking rating cannot be earned in online play. Whether PvP of PvE, you will have to level up offline. This may be subject to change in an update, but this is how it is for now.
GENERAL SHOP

The General Shop is found in both the Lobby Area and in Town (Near your Home Room). The General Shop sells various Weapons, Bullets, Costumes and Gadgets (The Gadget Terminals are the outer ones). You can also sell items here. Since most weapons and equipment sold in the General Shop is of Common Rank, it should not be your go-to place to obtain new weapons. Better weapons are found through drops and appraised at Agil’s Appraisal Joint.
However, the Shop is the only place that offers the sale of Gadgets. Gadgets serve as auxiliary skills that can be helpful in battle. Gadgets can only be purchased one time after which you have them forever. They’re expensive-ish but worth it so make sure you purchase them all.
The General Shop is also a good place to stock up on bullets for your respective weapons. Bullets are dropped in the field but are rather few and far between so buying a good amount from the General Shop will be enough to hold you down.
SUB-QUEST TERMINAL

These terminals provide the player with a list of kill quests. The targets are multiple small to medium sized monsters wandering in the game’s various fields or dungeons. The quests offered from these terminals are repeatable meaning that you could do these quests as many times as you want in order to receive the rewards.
MEDAL TRADING

In the middle of the Lobby Area, there are 3 Arfa-Sys. Two of them offer to confirm your in-game Rankings while the Blue Haired Arfa-Sys who I call Sophia (pictured above) allows you to trade Medals for rare items. The Medal System was covered in an earlier section of this post.
Medal Trading allows you to obtain rare Outfits, Memory Chips, Bonus Skill Points and Weapons that are not sold in the General Shop. Here, each category of Medal works as a currency that you will use to cash in for the respective item you desire. Items may need Medals from all categories to be received.
Out of all the items here, the Memory Chips and Skill Points are the most important.
But still, as most of the items provided here are useful, it is recommended that you aim to gather as many Medals as possible while playing.
~TOWN FACILITIES~
In SBC Glocken, there is Argo’s Information Exchange, a Gun Shop and a Material Shop. Some of the facilities are in out-of-the-way places, so be sure to mark them on your map with the White Flag until you have a good grasp of where they are.
ARGO’S INFORMATION EXCHANGE

After exiting your Home Room in SBC Glocken, if you turn left and proceed forward (underneath the staircase), you will spot Argo standing in the corner of the Base Station. She runs an Information Trade where you can buy Weapon Arts and other classified information as well as sell information you’ve gained through story progress.
Weapon Arts are very expensive techniques for respective weapons. They are activated with L1+R1 and are sort of “Ultimate Skills” for each respective weapons and grant various buffs and bonuses. These are expensive, but worth buying for your main weapon types. More information on Weapon Arts can be found in the in the Skill List.
You can also sell information to Argo that you’ve obtained through story progression. There’s no reason not to sell your information so make sure you sell everything in this tab.
SPECIALIST SHOP

He is located at the white flag on the map below:
This man sells rare guns and accessories not sold in the General Shop. As you progress through the story he will offer better guns and stuff. Changing to Extreme Mode will also change the kinds of things he sells. The weapons he offers are expensive, but unlike the General Shop, has weapons that are Uncommon, Rare and Epic Rarity. If you can spare the money and don’t feel like waiting on drops, this guy has some good stuff to hold you down until you get better weapons.
MATERIAL SHOP

He is located at the white flag on the map below:
There’s not a lot to say about this guy. He sells all kinds of material needed for upgrading weapons and making new outfits. If you change to the Extreme Difficulty, he will stock even more rare materials. The only thing is that his prices are steep. If you can spare the cash and are lazy to farm for materials manually, this shop will be very helpful.
There may be materials in the world that this guy doesn’t stock so you shouldn’t get too used to relying on him though.
~HOME ROOM FACILITIES~
Your Home Room in SBC Glocken has an Item Box, a terminal and an Arfa-Sys. This is the place to manage your Arfa-sys and your player character.

ITEM BOX
The item box (3 boxes on the left in the above image) in your room is a storage area for your Weapons, Bullets, Outfits, Accessories & Materials. The storage limit in your item box is larger than your carrying inventory so you should be sure to drop off items regularly. If you have too much carrying inventory, you will become OVERWEIGHT when picking up items and the field and your movement speed will be reduced greatly.
Items that you have no use for (Old useless low rank weapons & accessories) should be sold away and items that you wish to keep (a mid tier weapon with really good passive effects) should be placed into your storage. All materials on hand should also be placed into your storage as you can use them directly from here when upgrading.
HOME TERMINAL
The home terminal offers a variety of character customization options. From here, you can change both your character and your arfa-sys’ appearance, set skills and gadgets as well as set loadouts. Its worth emphasizing that this terminal is the only place you can set up your Skill & Gadget Pallets. This means that if you want to use a new skill, you will first need to return to your Home Room and access this terminal in order to equip it.
From this terminal, you can also setup loadouts. Loadouts are presets that are created and saved by you that can be used to switch your Character’s Build without having to change each piece of equipment manually. These loadouts include all your equipped items as well as your learned Skills, Skill Pallet & Gadget Pallets for respective weapon types. Loadouts also extend to Status Parameters in the sense that each loadout will remember the respective Status Parameters you saved for it. Each loadout will also save the respective data for your Arfa-sys as well.
Important: It is highly recommended that you leave at least one loadout blank. Like this, you will be able to have a backup point with all Stats at 1 in case you make a mistake with your Status Parameter point allocation or Skill setup.
ARFA-SYS MENU

Standing in the middle of your room and probably making a lot of noise is your waifu Arfa-Sys. When you talk to her she might want to change her hairstyle or outfit. Agreeing to this will change her respective appearance to a randomized option. Denying this option will bring up the ARFA-SYS MENU.
Take note that more options in this menu as you progress through the Story Mode.
These options allow you to tweak your ARFA-SYS’ personality, AI in battle, Color Coordinate and manage your funds. The other options are pretty straightforward, but Arfa-Sys has some interesting fund management systems.
You can use him/her as a bank to store credits and gain interest, and you can give him/her an allowance. Giving him/her an allowance will enables your Arfa-Sys to buy various kinds of items while you do quests. You can specify the kinds of items as well as the quality of the items you want him/her to buy. It seems like he/she automatically buys something on every third quest you clear (Whether story or sub quest) but its possible that this can change in a version update.
When using him/her as a bank, you can deposit credits and earn interest on them. You can specify the interest rate (3x options) but since two of the options have wide ranges which can include negative interest rates, its recommended you only use the the default setting (102%). Obviously, the more money you put into the bank, the bigger of an increase you will see on your interest gain. You will earn interest on every third quest you complete (whether story or sub-quest).
If you want to farm money, you can put all of your money into the bank and then go quickly complete 3 Terminal kill quests in the First Area and return to Arfa-Sys. Then put your earnings from the quest into the bank and repeat the 3 quests again. Depending on how much funds you start with, its possible to make a good sum of money in a relatively short space of time.
~KIRITO’S ROOM~

You can enter Kirito’s room from the Home Room door in SBC Glocken. Here you can appraise & upgrade weapons & items or create new outfits.
ASUNA’S OUTFIT BOUTIQUE

Asuna runs an Outfit Boutique. She can create various outfits for you that are not sold in the General Shop. To do so, she will need the outfit recipe as well as a list of materials in order to make the new outfit. Outfit recipes can be obtained as rewards from Bounty Sub-Quests and other quests.
AGIL’S APPRAISAL JOINT

Agil runs an Appraisal joint where you can come and identify weapons & items found in the field or dungeons. You can also sell items at this shop. As opposed to previous games, appraising an item will cost credits but you are able to see the weapon type, its rarity grade and the number of passive skills it has before appraisal.
Since the act of Appraising costs money, it will mean that you won’t make that much money from appraising and then selling item. This means that you should look at the item rarity and appraisal cost carefully before making a decision. Generally speaking, items that cost more money to appraise have ‘better’ skills so its wise to use that as a guide to identifying worthwhile items.
LIZ’ WEAPON SMITH

In Liz’ Weapon Smith, you can upgrade and adjust passive skills into your weapons. She has an Enhancement Level that restricts her to only being able to work on weapons of the same rank or lower (This is in the top right corner). Her Enhancement Level increases as you progress through the story. But to make her Lv7, you need to start a New Game Plus on Extreme Mode
Liz’ Smith has two main functions: Allowing you to Upgrade weapons and allowing you to change the Passive Effects on weapons.
Upgrading Weapons allows you to increase the Rank and attack power of a weapon. This also increases the weapon’s rank, minimum status requirements and its carrying weight so be careful. Weapons can only be upgraded twice in the form of “+” and then “++”. Take note that you can find “++” weapons in the field and these cannot be upgraded further.
When upgrading, there are 3 sets of materials you can use. These are merely different recipes to make upgrading slightly easier. no matter which material set you chose from, the result will be the same.
Adjusting the Passive Effects on weapons allows you to increase or switch out the passive bonuses on weapons. To work on a weapon, there is a an entry fee of Credits and Modification Chips.
Once you select a weapon to modify, you must then select another weapon that will be used as a material from which the Passive Effects will be extracted. Any weapon of any type can be used as a material (even is it doesn’t correspond to the weapon type you are working on). The material weapon will be destroyed so choose carefully.
More in-depth information on this subject has been moved to the Weapon Building section of the General Leveling Guide.
For the full list of passives skills, also refer to the Passive Effect List.
~SQUADRONS (PVP, PVE, TREASURE)~
You can teleport to the various Squadrons from your Home Room door in SBC Glocken. These are camps run by other in-game players that offer you with various Sub Quests.

There are three Squadron Rooms that you can enter. PVE (Bounty Hunting), PVP (Unique Enemy Hunting) & Treasure Hunting. As stated above, you can start Sub-Quests in these various places. Clearing Sub-Quests offered here will reward you with Memory Chips, Credits, Outfit Recipes and rare materials. Sub-Quests may unlock depending on previous quest completion or on story progress so be sure to check these 3 rooms often.
For more information on these sub-quests, have a look at the Sub Quest Guide.
…
That’s all.
